Mary Lou Thompson, 77 of New Brighton, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018. She was born June 16, 1940, in Camden-on-Gauley, WV, daughter of the late Orville and Virginia (Stumpf) Young. Mary Lou was a graduate of Ambridge High School. She was employed her entire career as an Emergency Room Nurse with hospitals in Houston, TX and Heritage Valley, Sewickley from where she retired.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Thompson; a beloved daughter: Paula Sue Kaufman in 1990; three brothers: Dick, Tom and Butch; two sisters: Melba and Connie.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Paul (Kim) Copeland, Arnold, MD; daughter and son-in-law: Erin (Shane) Clark, Daugherty Township; son-in-law: John Kaufman, Freedom; four grandchildren: David, Daniel, Brenna and Shannon; two great grandchildren: Cameron and Savanah; one sister and brother-in-law: Treva (Herb) Lewis of Virginia.
Friends will be received on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 10 a.m. to noon at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum).
