Jack Gerald Colbert, 87, of South Beaver, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 while surrounded by his family and under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver. Jack was born at home in Brighton Twp., January 22, 1930, son of the late Walter Bernard and Margaret Etta (Hites) Colbert. He served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jack Gerald Colbert, 87, of South Beaver, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 while surrounded by his family and under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver. Jack was born at home in Brighton Twp., January 22, 1930, son of the late Walter Bernard and Margaret Etta (Hites) Colbert. He served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jack was employed for 35 years with Pittsburgh Bridge and Iron as a burning machine operator; and then he drove truck for Luzell Incorporated. Jack also enjoyed working on the family farm raising beef and grain which has been passed on to his sons. Jack was a member of the Beaver Falls Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for 57 years. During those years he enjoyed telling others about his faith in God and Bible promises. Faith and family were most important to Jack.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years: Merilee (Stout) Colbert in 2004; a brother: Walter (Junior) Colbert; his sister: Evelyn Christy. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Ricky (Marla) Colbert, South Beaver; Robert (Kathy) Colbert, South Beaver; five grandchildren: Dianna, Jeremie, Candace, Reuben and Kimberly; six great grandchildren: Bobby, Kendra, Joshua, Jeremie, Alayna, Janeris and numerous nieces and nephews. Private interment was arranged through the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., with interment in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
A service will be held 4:30 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Industry Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 6107 Tuscarawas Road, Industry, PA 15052.
