Betty Lou Novak, 89, of White Township, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016. She was born December 26, 1926 in New Brighton, daughter of the late Wilbur and Elizabeth (Grimes) McDade. Betty retired as a Nurse's Aide from the Beaver Valley Geriatric Center.
A woman of deep faith, nurtured in the Baptist Church, she was a sweet and kind spirit who devoted much time in prayer. Family was the center of her life, especially the grandchildren who affectionately called her Grandma Lulu. She was loving and generous person and...

Betty Lou Novak, 89, of White Township, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016. She was born December 26, 1926 in New Brighton, daughter of the late Wilbur and Elizabeth (Grimes) McDade. Betty retired as a Nurse's Aide from the Beaver Valley Geriatric Center.
A woman of deep faith, nurtured in the Baptist Church, she was a sweet and kind spirit who devoted much time in prayer. Family was the center of her life, especially the grandchildren who affectionately called her Grandma Lulu. She was loving and generous person and also had a great sense of humor. Betty was an avid fan of the Steelers and in her leisure enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded by her husband of 31 years: John Novak on August 19, 2001; her son: Bruno "Skip" Cicco in 1971; one brother; Wilbur and her three sisters: Clara "Snooky"; Vivian "June" and Dorothy as a toddler.
Betty is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Edward (Linda St. John) Cicco, Big Pine Key, FL; Brian (Laura Martin) Novak, White Township; Jeffrey (Lauri) Novak, West Mayfield; one daughter: Brenda Thull, Manassas, VA; eleven grandchildren: Traci; Christina; Steven; James; Brandi; Billy; Devin; Aaron; Coltin; Carson and Jeffrey; ten great grandchildren: Elise; Samantha; Sierra; Ben; Caleb; Alysa; Miranda; Ariana; Cierra and William; her best friend: Kathy Martin-Holley, Patterson Township; many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in the funeral home. Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
